Anti-Abortion People Don’t Like Sculpture Gardens

My daily routine includes a northwesterly walk across part of the National Mall. I exit the Mall throught the National Gallery’s sculpture garden, where the perspective-fucking House 1 by Roy Lichtenstein gives me vertigo, and Sol Lewitt’s Four-Sided Pyramid reminds me of the blight he imposed on my college’s campus.

Today, the garden was its usual quiet self, which was odd, given the general mayhem on the Mall from the 37th annual Roe v. Wade-fest. Though the festivities had abated by the time I got to the Mall, I made my way through blocked streets, unusually large crowds outside the museums, and plenty of litter that assured me that
